Carbon dioxide is the main environmental pollutant. ALOS exploits the photosynthetic power of microalgae to sequester carbon dioxide and convert it into oxygen.

The room air is taken from the base of the lamp, and pumped through the microalgae culture tank. Microalgae use carbon dioxide and solar energy to grow, returning oxygen to the room – with the same efficiency as dozens and dozens of plants!

ALOS filter technology is sustainable, and does not require any kind of replacement of the filter. The microalgae culture can be regenerated with simple maintenance.

ALOS is alive, and with due attention it can live indefinitely. If you have problems with microalgae growth, follow our troubleshooting guide.

If case the lamp gets wet, for whatever reason, don’t worry. Turn off the lamp using the ON/OFF button and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Once this is done, simply let the base sit in a dry place for 24 hours, or until it is completely dry.

First, remove any algae deposits by rinsing the tub or, if necessary, using a clean cloth.

To disinfect the tank, clean the inside by diluting a glass of vinegar or alcohol in 1L of tap water. Subsequently, rinse until the smell of vinegar or alcohol is no longer perceptible.

The use of bleach is strongly not recommended. Bleach is a very aggressive agent, and can damage the internal components of the device.

Similarly, the use of other household cleaners is not recommended. These can contain substances that are difficult to rinse and harmful to microalgae.

To clean the inside of the tank it is recommended to use alcohol or vinegar.
